Vastly superior in terms of functionality to any other internal tool builder I've seen on the market.
If you're trying to build an app to manage and work with internal data, Retool is huge.
I have three qualms, but they're just based on my personal preference.
1) You need an understanding of Javascript to get the full functionality out of it
2) It's only for internal tools, not public apps - but there is a workaround. You can publish your Retool app under a custom domain through Cloakist, and create a pseudo tool.
3) Limited visual design - because Retool prioritizes functionality over form, the apps you build won't look very pretty.
Outside of those, it's a really impressive builder. You can build AI agents and automate workflows as well.
As I learn more Javascript, I'll likely use Retool a lot for prototyping complex systems before building them manually.
