You know when you're signing up for a service, and there's an on-screen interactive guide to help you learn everything about the interface?

It's a good tool, but it has insane pricing. It's clearly targeted at enterprise companies almost exclusively.

And they're NOT clear about their pricing upfront, which pisses me off. You have to make an account, sign up, and try to upgrade before you see the pricing.

They keep it away from you until you're already using the tool. That's shady.

Technically, according to their FAQ, there is a free plan you get access to called "basic" after the free trial ends. You can't sign up for basic deliberately, you have to wait until your trial's expiration.

But outside of all that shady pricing stuff, the tool is kinda neat. The free plan is pretty limiting - you only get 400 guide views per month - but I'll likely use it for something that's complex for the user in the future.

The guides aren't honestly anything super special - but you do get a lot of control over how they're triggered, what they say and look like, and how and when the user interacts with them.

The first decent tier is $350 per month though, and you only get 4,000 guide views per month. If you're doing anything at scale, it's simply unusable.
