Thunkable transitioned to an AI app builder in the last couple years - they used to be a manual drag and drop native app builder, that used MIT's app inventor system for backend logic.

Currently, the builder is decent, although the design the AI comes up with is quite a bit worse than other AI builders, but I take special issue with their download setup.

You can publish your apps to the app stores from Thunkable, which is nice, and you can download the app as an APK on the free plan, but it's only available for 72 hours.

So you can't functionally use the free plan to make anything usable, you HAVE to be on a paid plan to publish or even TEST an app over more than 3 days.

The first paid plan isn't that expensive, but you're going to get better tools elsewhere, hands down.
